April 22nd is the 40th celebration of Earth Day. Almost 1500 teachers from around the world pledged to go paperless.
Interesting Paper Facts
- Recycling 54kg of newspaper will save one tree
- The average daily web user prints 28 pages daily
- 324 liters of water is used to produce 1kg of paper
- 95% of business information is still stored on paper
We celebrated Earth Day by not using any paper in the classroom today. Students used their imagination and created some interesting presentations using Wordle , Prezi and Voice Thread.
Wordle
Wordle allows you to make word clouds. Type in any words and then select the layout, colour and font.
An amazing tool to create presentations. Each presentation is a large map. Add text, images etc and choose where you want to zoom in and in which order. Here is a simple Prezi made by students for Earth Day.
Voice Thread is a multimedia slideshow that holds images, documents and videos.
